Adoptable Pet of the Day: Joy
Joy is a reserved but affectionate female cat available for adoption from the North Fork Animal Welfare League (Southold, New York 11971).
April 14, 2009
Joy came into the shelter on a cruelty and neglect seizure. She was found, along with 16 other cats, on a screened porch. There was no food and what little water they had left was completely frozen. Their litter boxes were filled with frozen urine and the porch was covered in feces. Of the 17 cats that were removed, Joy and her friend Regis were the only two friendly cats. Regis has since been adopted but Joy is now living in one of the cat rooms at the shelter and loving her new life. Joy is a little reserved and waits for you to come to her. Once you start petting her though she becomes very affectionate.

PetWork note: Some lucky pets may already have found their forever homes by the time you meet them here, but don't worry. There are plenty of other wonderful pets who would be happy to share your home and love you to pieces.
