Adoptable Pet of the Day: Maggie

Maggie is sweet and gentle 6-year-old female cat available for adoption from Kitten Rescue (Los Angeles, California).

July 14, 2009

Maggie was trapped on the front lawn of a posh Beverly Hills house whose owner threatened to take Maggie and her newborn kittens to the pound if someone didn't take them off her property. Maggie tamed down quite nicely and has turned into an extraordinarily sweet cat who is very happy to be living in a home.

All six of Maggie's kittens have been adopted, and now she's looking for a home. She still has wonderful maternal instincts and mothers any kittens she meets, grooming and playing with them as if they were her own. She has a tremendous sweetness about her and a very gentle, loving nature. And she is absolutely gorgeous, a silver tabby/calico with orange and dark silver stripes, big green eyes, white mittens, and a white tipped tail. Maggie gets along great with other cats and likes to snuggle up to them.

Maggie has tested positive for FIV (feline AIDS). FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV- cat. She should be the only cat or live with other cats who are also FIV+.

PetWork note: Some lucky pets may already have found their forever homes by the time you meet them here, but don't worry. There are plenty of other wonderful pets who would be happy to share your home and love you to pieces.
