Adoptable Pet of the Day: Olivia Oink

— filed under:

Olivia is a playful and friendly potbellied pig available for adoption from Longmeadow Rescue Ranch (Union, Missouri).

July 27, 2009

Olivia was left at the ranch's Macklind Shelter without any information. They don't know if she was a stray or if her previous owners left her.

When Olivia first came to Longmeadow, the staff noticed that she seemed sore on her back legs. After radiographs and a vet's evaluation, the rescue found that she did have a hair-line fracture at two locations in her pelvis. They do not know how this happened to her. She may have been dropped or had something dropped on her. She is currently on restricted exercise and was being treated for the pain. She is doing much better. In fact it is very hard to limit her exercise.

Olivia is currently available for adoption. The rescue expects her to recover from her injury.

PetWork note: Some lucky pets may already have found their forever homes by the time you meet them here, but don't worry. There are plenty of other wonderful pets who would be happy to share your home and love you to pieces.
