Adoptable Senior/Special Needs: Christy
Christy is a sweet 11-year-old purebred Pekingese available for adoption through North County Humane Society (Atascadero, California 93422).
January 10, 2009
Christy was once part of a breeding operation. She became paralyzed and was given up by the breeder as she was no longer useful to the breeder.
The shelter spayed Christy and removed several mammary tumors. They also fitted Christy with a small cart and she cruises all over now! She wears a diaper in the house, but she does appear to have control of some of her bodily functions. She understands that she should wait to poo until they take off the diaper, but isn't always able to wait when she has to pee.
If you had a yard that was flat she could go outside in her cart without the diaper and do her thing. The shelter believes she could become potty trained and might not need the diaper, but it is also possible that she may always need a diaper in the house.
Christy is super loving, full of life, and LOVES to play with toys! If you are able to do just a little bit extra, Christy will repay your efforts with love and kisses and soft barks to communicate with you. Her cart will of course go with her to her new home!

PetWork note: Some lucky pets may already have found their forever homes by the time you meet them here, but don't worry. There are plenty of other wonderful pets who would be happy to share your home and love you to pieces.
