Adoptable Senior/Special Needs: Forrest

Forrest is a sweet, fragile 8 to 10-year-old male Pekingese available for adoption from Peppertree Rescue (Albany, New York 12220).

July 20, 2009

Forrest is a very sweet, fragile boy who needs special care and lots of love. Forrest was found on the side of the road in Georgia in life threatening conditions. Due to neglect, he is blind in one eye; his teeth had to be pulled; he has a spinal disease caused by lesions in-between his disks due to not having enough fat and muscle. He needs drops in his eyes everyday, soft food, like chicken and rice, in small pieces, and carpeted floors because he slips easily. He is only 9 pounds and needs to gain some healthy weight. Forrest has no aggression towards other dogs or cats and he knows how fragile he is. It would be very easy for him to be hurt unintentionally by another dog or cat.

Besides all of Forrest's “hurdles," he loves to be held like a baby, wags his tail, barks when he needs to go if you have not taken him out already, and is very easy to love. He loves to sleep and eat. He will stay in your arms for hours. He is a great lap dog. He deserves a great life in a home where he can be nurtured and loved.

PetWork note: Some lucky pets may already have found their forever homes by the time you meet them here, but don't worry. There are plenty of other wonderful pets who would be happy to share your home and love you to pieces.
