Adoptable Special Needs: Itri

— filed under:

Itri is an adult female FIV positive cat available for adoption from Warwick Animal Shelter (Warwick, Rhode Island 02886).

May 20, 2009

Itri was found as a stray; the shelter later found out who Itri's owner was but they did not want her anymore (just as well because she was living outside, not spayed, and having litters of kittens.) Itri is a little shy but as soon as she gets to know you, she is the greatest kitty, very sweet.

Itri has one problem though: She has tested positive for feline FIV. This greatly reduces Itri's chances for adoption because most people are not aware of the facts about FIV and are afraid to adopt cats who have it. If you want information on Itri or FIV, please call the shelter and the staff will be happy to explain. People who adopt FIV positive cats are very special because without people like them cats like Itri will be put to sleep.

PetWork note: Some lucky pets may already have found their forever homes by the time you meet them here, but don't worry. There are plenty of other wonderful pets who would be happy to share your home and love you to pieces.
