Adoptable Senior: Annie

— filed under:

Annie is a sweet senior female Golden Retriever available for adoption from Retrievers and Friends of Southern California (Temecula, California 92593).

September 4, 2009

Annie came to Retrievers and Friends in very bad shape. She was abandoned in an apartment for days, waiting for her owners who had moved and left her. The manager opened the place up to clean and found her. He called the shelter to come pick her up. Annie was weak with hunger and dehydrated, covered in fleas. She stayed at the shelter for 2 weeks. When she was made available for adoption, Retrievers and Friends was called to help.

The rescue named her Annie; she did not even come with a name. They gave her a much needed bath, a good dinner, and a soft bed. Annie slept in the rescue's home for the first 24 hrs she was there, waking up to go out and potty and get a drink of water and back to her soft bed. She is about 9-10 yrs old. She has soft brown eyes and just looks at you as if to say, thank you. Annie might not be the picture of health and beauty like so many of the retrievers you see but she has a heart of gold. Annie would be a true rescue and a treasure to have.

PetWork note: Some lucky pets may already have found their forever homes by the time you meet them here, but don't worry. There are plenty of other wonderful pets who would be happy to share your home and love you to pieces.
