Adoptable Special Needs: Puffin

— filed under:

Puffin is a sweet adult male dog available for adoption from Kalamazoo Animal Rescue (Kalamazoo, Michigan 49003).

September 1, 2009

Puffin is a gentle, loving special needs dog who is waiting to give lots of love to his new BFF. At seven years, Puffin has outgrown his puppyhood, yet his size indicates he's just starting middle-age and could enjoy many years in a new forever-home. His "special need" is only physical. His manners and personality couldn't be sweeter.

Puffin has a perineal hernia that is displacing internal organs, and may eventually require surgery. However, doctors believe that his condition can be relieved for now with low doses of a stool softener, Mirolax, just to keep him from straining. A KAR staff or volunteer can tell you more about his condition. His adoption fee will be lower than normal to help assure that he finds a home. Please help this sweet little guy through his mid-life crisis so he can enjoy family life in good health.

PetWork note: Some lucky pets may already have found their forever homes by the time you meet them here, but don't worry. There are plenty of other wonderful pets who would be happy to share your home and love you to pieces.
